Thousands of people are holding events across Canada to raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic and raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which supports community-based oroganizations that are turning the tide of HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

Starting at 5pmm, you will be treated to a fabulous night of live music, food and silent auction.
The silent auction is open from 5pm to 8pm; a delicious pasta dinner is served starting at 6pm.
The Metro Big Band is a 21 piece orchestra which offers a lively and wonderful array of music for dancing or listening pleasure.

A New Hope is a one-woman play based on the historical accounts of John Clarkson’s mission to America in 1791 to improve the conditions of the Black Loyalists in Nova Scotia and to promote the colonization of Sierra Leone in Africa. The storyteller, through the voices of those who made the journey to Nova Scotia, tells of their hardships and hopes for a better life in this new land. Many found hope in the promises of John Clarkson, with the departure for some to Sierra Leone in 1792. The year 2008 marked the 225th anniversary of the Black Loyalists’ arrival in Nova Scotia and their creation of the first large free Black Community living in the world outside of Africa. “New Hope” is a play created in honour of this celebration.
